Of the units to be closed by July, my beloved most hated friend, Medic 99, has been spared the first round of cuts. The staff from the closed unit are to be dispersed to local fire engines, a move many firefighter paramedics welcome.

I’ve mentioned before my opinions on the ambulances in the firehouses, but the call volume is too high and the cost even higher to staff these rigs this way.

Waiting for the bells to ring,

the Happy Medic
